Add an email account

Add an addon domain

Here is how to add an addon domain within cPanel.

Log into your cPanel account and go to the home screen. It should look like the picture below or something similar. http://screencast.com/t/5jQIIPGk

Scroll down until you see "Addon Domains" http://screencast.com/t/OwFBBsUTne

Fill in the required information as shown in the picture. Some of this information will auto-fill for you after you type your domain name. http://screencast.com/t/aw9gA6Kd1

You domain has been added.

Create a subdomain

How to create a subdomain within cPanel.

Log into your cPanel account and go to the home screen. It should look like the picture below or something similar. http://screencast.com/t/5jQIIPGk

Scroll down until you see "Subdomains" Click on that. http://screencast.com/t/XVDoFD4T

You will get a screen that looks like the below. In the drop down area you are going to want to select the domain you want to create the subdomain for. http://screencast.com/t/PIVIUYb4iW

Fill in the "Subdomain" blank and click outside the box. The "Document Root" blank should auto-fill for you. Now press create. http://screencast.com/t/SI6rokXs

You subdomain has been created.

Generate a full backup

To generate a full backup and download it

Log into cPanel and fine the Backups icon http://screencast.com/t/oSTXYmzoyN

Open Backups and now select Download or Generate a Full Website Backup http://screencast.com/t/hzEg2ndKC2lW

Provide you email address so you receive a notification when this finishes. You will want to do this if you have a large site because it could take up to 30 minutes to generate the backup http://screencast.com/t/wABe2AtcCdRj

You'll get this screen. Press Go Back http://screencast.com/t/BXFmpdVo21

Once you receive the email refresh this page. http://screencast.com/t/HHcgMayJNuRN

Now Select the backup to download. http://screencast.com/t/iZ2Yxu2MMZ4U

Now you should get a Download screen asking you were to save the file.

Upload Files to Addon Domain or Subdomain

Select "File Manager" http://screencast.com/t/esUJRoLf1

You will get this pop-up. Select Web Root (public_html/www) and press "Go" http://screencast.com/t/vYCodORGAXeY

Select the folder for the Addon Domain or Subdomain you wish to add files to. Double click it. http://screencast.com/t/C8kVZxfO

That will take you to the contents of that folder. You will then select the "Upload" button to add your files to this folder. http://screencast.com/t/huuCVWED7r3

Setup wildcard DNS

To create a wildcard DNS record

In cPanel, within the Advanced DNS Zone Editor

Select your domain using the drop down.

In the Add a Record area Name: *.yourdomainhere.com TTL:14400 is standard Type: A Address: your ip address

Press "Add Record"
